According to the VIN tag the car started life as a California built, Hugger Orange example that was stripped to the tub, resprayed back to its original color and reassembled. The panel fit and closing gaps are excellent, with no evidence of accident damage or rust repair. The paint finish is excellent with a few minor issues, due to storage.
Mechanically, the engine is a rebuilt, numbers matching, original 307 block, that has been upgraded with a dual plane aluminum intake manifold, Carter AFB, 600cfm carb, & MSD electronic distributor. The cylinder heads were replaced and a Competition Cam XE -262 camshaft & roller rockers were also installed along with cast iron exhaust manifolds and dual exhaust. All the original, removed components are available and included in the sale.
The Turbo 350 transmission was rebuilt, a shift kit added and a Hughes 11" higher stall, torque converter.
Rear end is a powder coated, 10 bolt housing with a 3:55 posi-traction gear set.
The suspension has been totally rebuilt. Radiator core support, inner fender aprons, sub frame, rear axle and front suspension components powder coated in black. Suspension upgrades included were poly bushings, new performance shocks, 1.5" shorter springs, and the addition of a rear anti sway bar, larger diameter front sway bar and bolt in frame connectors.
The Interior is done in the original black pattern with new dash top and carpets. All the instruments and switch gear function as they should. Glass and window lift mechanisms all work correctly.
Rally wheels and BFG radials complete the ensemble.
The car starts, runs, drives, handles and stops with little effort. It is fun to drive and a real conversation starter. Included with the sale is an album with several restoration photos .
